McCall Seniors' Mad Hatters Luncheon

The annual Mad Hatters Luncheon will be held Satruday 3/31 at The McCall Senoir Citizens Center. The luncheon will run from noon to 2pm at the center located at 701 First St. Hats are optional, but prizes will be given to the best hats worn. Tickets are $10 and sold only at the door.

Immunization Class at McCall Memorial Hospital

McCall Memorial Hospital's Center for Health Promotion will offer an educational class covering new immunizations available to adults on Friday March 30 from 12:15pm to 1:15pm in the hospital conference rooms. Presenter Dr. Marcia Witte, an internal medicine physician at Long Valley Medical Clinic, will discuss recently available vaccinations. These include vaccinations for shingles, tetanus, diptheria and tertusus, and HPV -- the virus that's believed to cause almost all cases of cervical cancer. Witte will also cover the more traditonal vaccines.

"Casting for Recovery" offers retreat for breast cancer survivors

Casting for Recovery, a support and educational program for breast cancer survivors, will hold a rertreat June 8-10 at Meacow Creek Golf Resort near New Meadows. Casting for Recovery is a nationally recognized program designed to help women with breast cancer to experience physical, emotional and spiritual healing through fly-fishing retreats held in natrual settings. The free retreat is offered to all women who live in Idaho of all ages and in all stages of breast cancer treatment and recovery. Application deadline is March 31. Hunter's Ed Classes Online

Any prospective hunter education students living in Long Valley, Round Valey or near Council now have two more options available to complete a hunter education course. Home study and online versions of Hunter Education and an online version of Bowhunter Education are now available. Students can register for a home study or online course at the Fish & Game McCall office at 555 Dienhard Lane. The first field day is scheduled for late March. For more information call 634-1837.

Family Night Out March 9

"Family Night Out," a night of family fun activities presented in collaboration with local and state agencies, will be held Friday March 9 at the Trinity Pine Conference Center in Cascade. The evening will begin with a family dinner at 6pm. Shellie Rambo Roberson of the Governor's Executive Office for Family and Children will be the keynote speaker for this evening. The movie "High is a Lie" will be shown through a sponsorship of the Valley County Sheriff's Dept. Various local organizations have agreed to set up family-fun activities in booths for kids and adults. Door prizes and giveaways will occur during the evening.
