Snowmobile Fun Run

The McCall Area Snowmobile Association will be rescheduled to March 15, 2008. Entry time is 9am to noon at the event headquarters on West Mountain Rd. Entry fee is $10. The event was scheduled for Feb. 2 but was postponed due to hazardous conditions on Red Ridge caused by heavy winter storms. After the fun run, a drawing will beld at 4pm with first prize being $500 plus merchandise and second prize $250 plus merchandise, both sponsored by Napa Auto Parts in McCall. Activity Barn to host "Tub-a-pallooza!"

The fifth annual Tubapalooza! music and sledding festival will be held Saturday, March 1 at The Activity Barn south of McCall. This year's event will feature the annual cardboard sled derby, face-to-face downhill kayak races, food and beer. Live music will be provided by Equaleyes.The fun starts at 3pm and gates open at 2pm. Cost will be $10 per person or $35 for a carload. Children under age 10 will be admitted free, and all admissions come with one hour of tubing on The Activity Barn's lift-served tubing hill. A portion of the proceeds will aid the McCall Folklore Society's efforts to build a new permanent performance stage at the historic Roseberry townsite.

Ducks Unlimited Dinner Feb. 22

The area chapter of Ducks Unlimited will hold its annual banquet at Whitetail Club & Resort on Friday Feb. 22. Doors open at 5:30pm and the dinner begins at 7pm. An auction will begin at 7:45pm. All tickets include membership in the auctions, numerous prize drawings and games. For more info call 208-870-1730.

The Hunt Lodge 1st Prize in Ice Sculpture contest at The Winter Carnival

A massive frozen depiction of an Old West cattle drive earned The Hunt Lodge the grand prize at the 2008 McCall Winter Carnival local snow sculpture competition, created by sculptor John Schulz. He earned $950 for his creation and also created a new dynasty among local snow sculptors -- raising the bar and setting a new trend in spectacular ice sculptures in McCall, Idaho's year-round playground and truly a Winter Wonderalnd!
